To Whom It May Concern,

It is with pleasure and honor to write this letter of recommendation for Denette Dunn. I have known Denette Dunn a little over a year. My family and I had the pleasure of meeting Denette Dunn at the Peoria Arts and Cultural Festival in 2018, as well as the Peoria Leadership institute Program, and throughout the community of city, we call home, in the Pine District of Peoria, Arizona.

Ms. Dunn has always expressed the love for her community, her family and the quality of life in Peoria. After knowing more about her, she has and still continues to express the importance on working together in our community making a difference regardless of political affiliation. Her commitment of putting our community first in the City of Peoria, Arizona is an asset to acquire. 

Living in Peoria for many years with my family, my husband and I chose this city to raise our 3 beautiful children. Our eldest daughter has had an amazing opportunity that sat on the dais with the Mayor and City Council Members Board of the City of Peoria as a Youth Council Liaison. We appreciate Denette Dunn’s tenacity and ambition to serving her community. We have instilled a foundation for our children to always give back to their community through volunteering, attending community programs and to appreciate the amazing city we call home. Having children who are part of the Peoria School District has been the forefront of the topic in education which I believe Denette Dunn will have a deep focus on our school system along with a fresh outlook on policy and procedures. 

As a resident in the Pine District, and supporter of the former Councilmember Carlo “Rocky” Leone, has understood the importance to fill the seat in the Pine District. Councilmember Leone has always engaged with his community, his constituents in the Pine District, throughout Peoria, in the state of Arizona and more. He has made a tremendous impact in our community in a positive way that will never be forgotten and touched the lives of so many including my family. I do believe that Denette Dunn will make a great impact in our community and will hold the attributed value of what former Councilmember Leone stood for. 

Denette Dunn has contributed to further her knowledge on this great city and district. Her expertise will offer an invaluable insight to our community in the City of Peoria, Arizona. Meeting her with in the year span, I can say she is fully committed and dedicated to our community and she will continue to make a difference.

To Whom it may Concern.

I have been a resident and home owner in the Pine District since February, 2000, and I pledge my full support to Denette Dunn to fill the vacant seat of Carlo Leone.  I have known Denette for the past 12 years as a great neighbor and trusted friend.  She is very qualified for the position and will serve the community well.

As a father of three, a grandfather of ten plus one great grandchild, families are extremely important to me.  The health, safety, and education of our youth is a priority to all of us and I know Denette understands this and has made it a priority also.  She knows the needs of our youth and concerns of the families in the district. 

I am a Viet Nam Veteran.  I served 8 years in the United States Air Force with one tour in Viet Nam and was Honorably discharged with two Commendation medals for Meritorious service in 1974.  Denette has great respect of all Veterans and Service Men and Women.  The Marines brag about never leaving a man behind, I know Denette will never leave any service man or woman behind, past or present. 

The Pine District is a mix of multiple cultures, religions, race, and sexual orientations. Denette is one of the most compassionate, caring and fair person I know.  I have witness her love and concern for others.  She has no stigma or prejudices and treats everyone as an equal. 

On a personal note, I want to give two examples of the kind of neighbor she is.  Shortly after she moved to the neighborhood, she noticed my palm tree was in serious need of trimming.  Knowing I had been laid off from work due to arthritis, she completely paid to get the tree trimmed.  Four years ago I lost my wife to cancer.  Denette was was right there to give me her support and comfort,

I truly feel there could be no one else as qualify to fill the empty seat.  With Denette in office, we will be proud to live in Pine District.
