I have two Daughters and two Granddaughters. As a young 7th grader in Jr. High School my Father a Navy Veteran, passed away. He is now honored on the Veterans Memorial Wall at the John McCain Memorial Plaza at Rio Vista Park in Peoria.  My mom served as a missionary with Y.W.A.M. in the State of Aguascalientes Mexico. She later served as a court advocate for homeless women and children. Mom now lives in Peoria in an assisted living home and is thriving as she ages in our wonderful city. My younger brother has his masters in public administration and has worked for several cities in their public works departments. The loss of our dad taught me many valuable lessons. One of which is, never take for granted what you have and those you love. I gained my first experience serving my community as the first female Police Explorer in my hometown, while in High School. The Explorers taught and mentored me as I developed the necessary skill of discipline and life experience to prepare me for service to others. After my fathers death, I moved in with and was raised by my dads identical twin brother. He was a lifelong school teacher and my aunt a special needs teacher and school bus driver. Later in life I decided to raise a family and had two beautiful daughters. My daughter and her husband bought their first home in Peoria. They now have a beautiful daughter of their own and great careers. My daughter is a news reporter and my son in law is a firefighter. My other daughter lives here and has a successful marketing job with the RV industry.
